P800K worth of shabu recovered in Talisay City bust

An estimated P800,000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated following a late Tuesday evening buy-bust operation in Barangay E. Lizares, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Police arrested 44-year-old Joven Catipay, a resident of Barangay Pitalok in San Fernando, Cebu.

Talisay City police chief, Police Superintendent Boots Aseo, said the operation was conducted with Silay City Police Station anti-drug operatives.

Cops immediately moved in on Catipay after he handed one sachet of suspected shabu worth P500 to a police poseur buyer.

A search of the suspect yielded two medium and one big sachet of suspected shabu, a mobile phone, and suspected drug money amounting to P1,000.

Catipay faces possession and sale of illegal drugs charges and is currently detained at the Talisay City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
