The first batch of Bacolod City barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials recently completed a compulsory three-day orientation focused on transparency at the Resorts Negrense in Barangay Punta Taytay.

The initial group, representing 20 barangays, completed the Department of the Interior and Local Government-led training from August 28 to 30.

Orientation for the next batch of 21 barangays begins tomorrow, September 4; with the final group starting next week, on September 11.

Topics covered during the three-day event included decentralization and governance, barangay government administration, public accountability, barangay-based institutions, peace and order, local legislation, barangay development planning, barangay finance administration, barangay budget and procurement, among others./WDJ
