Is Duterte being chastised by mere subordinates?

“…Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves…” –Romans 13:1-2

No matter how one looks at the entire situation, it would appear President Rodrigo Duterte is being castigated by the Department of National Defense (DND), Philippine National Police (PNP), and mere Malacañang subordinates over the assumption he was not telling the truth with regard to the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) allegedly plotting his assassination.

Last week, during a speech before the League of Municipalities Visayas Island Cluster Conference in Cebu City, Duterte publicly claimed the CIA was out to kill him – even before that, he had already been discussing the said assassination allegations.

However, amid the criticism, the president has shown himself to be a “small boy.”

Wittingly or unwittingly, what these underlings have succeeded in doing is portraying their superior, the commander-in-chief, as delusional and a liar.

Today, let us tackle here the various pieces of proof that Jesus gave to prove He is God and Savior who is God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. One of these can be seen from His own pronouncement that He, Jesus, is “I Am,” the God the Father who sent Moises to lead his fellow Israelites, God’s chosen people, out of their slavery of 400 years in Egypt.

We can see this pronouncement of Jesus in John 8. While Jesus’s discourses were often clothed in parables, He made it clear in John 8 who He really was. According to Him, He is “I Am”. He said this twice—first in John 8:24 and second in John 8:28. This statement of Jesus that He is “I Am” is a clear confession, as it were, of His being God the Father.

To recall, we must not forget that God the Father introduced Himself to Moses, in Exodus 3, that He, the God the Father, had a Name, which is “I Am”—who is the Lord, the God called Yahweh, who is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It is therefore clear that when Jesus said He is “I Am”, what He was really saying then was that He is God the Father. No more, no less.

A question from Reyha Ramirez: “Good evening Atty. Batas. I [ask] your advice, Sir. I am in debt in the amount of P11,000.00, which I am paying [in] installments. I failed to pay the installment due this month, since I still have some P4,000.00 of this obligation still unpaid. The problem is, they have been [relentlessly] posting [on] social media about this. My name is even publicized there. Can I sue them for libel? I have a screenshot of the posts, although only the first ones. The succeeding posts were merely relayed to me by my friends since I can no longer view their posts.”

According to Lawyers in the Light (or Lawyers Instructed on Godliness, Humility, and Truth): Thank God in the Name of Jesus. There are various elements that must be proven in a criminal libel case. The requirement is all elements must concur and be shown to have existed in order for a libel complaint to be filed and prosecuted. Anyway, libel on social media is a serious offense, it is called cyber libel, and is punishable with about seven years of imprisonment.
