The Iloilo City government opened their sports events for PWDs (persons with disabilities) last Wednesday at the La Paz Gym.

“We are promoting equality,” declared Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III. “The city government is here for you.”

“We will support all your programs because we want you to be happy and feel that there is equality in our city,” he added.

The event includes basketball and volleyball for the hearing impaired, basketball and bowling for participants with intellectual disabilities, and goal ball for the blind.

Winners will be awarded during the flag-raising ceremony on Monday, September 3./WDJ
