Pedicab operator, son injured in Himamaylan City hit-and-run

A 70-year-old pedicab operator and his 14-year-old son were injured after they were reportedly hit by a speeding van late Tuesday night in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the operator as Rodolfo Lampes, Sr. and his son, Rodnel Lampes, both residents of Barangay Su-ay in the said city.

Himamaylan City Police Station traffic investigators said the father and son were on their way home aboard their pedicab when they were hit by a speeding van.

Following the incident, the van reportedly sped away, leaving both victims lying injured in the road.

Locals immediately called for help and brought the victims to the city’s district hospital, and later the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City.

Police are presently trying to identify the driver of the involved vehicle./DGB, WDJ
