Bystander wounded following Vista Alegre shootout

A civilian bystander was wounded Tuesday afternoon following a shootout between members of local law enforcement and a wanted individual at Abada Escay in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City

Police identified the victim as 20-year-old Ronald Dela Peña, a resident of Block 30, Lot 14 in the said area.

Based on an official report by police, City Intelligence Unit operatives, backed by the Bacolod Mobile Force Company and Regional Special Operations Group, attempted to serve a warrant of arrest against Ejay Sevilla.

Once police arrived, Sevilla, along with three other unidentified men, allegedly opened fire.

During the firefight, a stray bullet reportedly hit Dela Peña in the stomach, while Sevilla and the three other suspects fled.

Cops immediately rushed Dela Peña to a local hospital following the incident.

Authorities recovered a .22 caliber revolver and .45 caliber revolver, which were owned by Sevilla.

Police are presently conducting a manhunt operation against Sevilla and three other gunmen./DGB, WDJ
