Barangay tanod charged in beating of minor in Brgy. 16

A barangay tanod allegedly involved in the recent beating of a 16-year-old boy in Barangay 16, Bacolod City has been formally charged.

The suspect, identified as Michael Rosales, has been brought to the Bacolod City Hall of Justice for inquest proceedings and currently faces assault charges.

Police are also waiting for a supplemental affidavit to be executed by the victim’s family in order to charge the five other barangay tanods, who are currently still at large.

Earlier, Rosales was arrested after he and the five other suspects, identified as barangay tanods Ben Bejemino, Christopher Abelana, Mark Anthony Bico, Johnmar Ronzales, and Michael Jamandre, allegedly assaulted the 16-year-old victim and his sibling during a birthday party over the weekend.

The victim is currently confined at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital and is currently in a comatose state after he was beaten by the suspects with a baseball bat./DGB, WDJ
