The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) yesterday welcomed 129 returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) as part of the ongoing amnesty program the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is offering for those who have overstayed their visa or are in the country illegally.
According to a release by the agency, this latest batch of OFWs will be returning home from the cities of Abu Dhabi and Al-Ain.
It was earlier reported, 116 OFWs arrived in Manila from Dubai over the weekend. A batch of 100 previously arrived last August 16.
DFA previously urged all OFWs in such situations to take advantage of the program.
While the program runs until October 31, any cases reported after July 31 are not being considered./WDJ
