The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) recently revealed 24 must-visit ecotourism destinations in the Central Visayas through a social media post, with the Tañon Strait, which sits between Negros and Cebu, making the list.
According to the post, the waterway is a protected seascape that serves as a home to various marine mammals and is the largest protected area in the country.
DENR noted, these protected areas are intended to enhance biological diversity, conserve natural habitats and species, and promote ecotourism.
Other areas that made the list include Camotes Island and Bantayan Island in Cebu; along with the Loboc Watershed, Panglao Island, and Chocolate Hills in Bohol./WDJ
