Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia led a mass wedding over the weekend, where 10 couples married at Purok San Roque in the city’s Barangay Handumanan.

Joining the mayor as witnesses were Bacolod City Councilor Bartolome Orola, Barangay Handumanan Captain Ricardo Danoy, local kagawads, and civil registrar personnel.

The event was held prior to the opening of the community’s annual fiesta.

Earlier this year, 62 couples were married in a similar ceremony in Iloilo City.

Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III officiated the ceremony at the Ker & Co. building, located next to City Hall./WDJ
