A motorcyclist was recently killed after he was allegedly gunned down by suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Barangay Sebucawan, Isabela, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the fatality as Jomarie Daleos Saracia, a resident of the said area.
Isabela municipal police investigators said Saracia was heading to church when he was met by five armed men who reportedly opened fire, striking Saracia five times, and killing him on the spot.
Witnesses also told police they heard the suspects claim to be members of the NPA before escaping aboard two motorcycles.
Police are currently investigating the incident and looking into claims of Saracia being a Philippine Army asset as a possible motive behind the shooting./DGB, WDJ
