Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary John Castriciones recently ordered the monitoring of Iloilo agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs), who are Certificate of Land Ownership Award recipients under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).

While meeting with municipal agrarian reform program officers at the DAR offices in Iloilo, the cabinet official said the agency must ensure ARBs are the ones tilling their own land and, if not, they need to be reported to the Provincial Agrarian Reform Office.

Once a report is filed, a case is brought forward, where the land belonging to the ARB in question may be redistributed to another party.

ARB organizations will also be under scrutiny in an effort to ensure assistance is provided for less developed entities./WDJ
