A husband and wife were arrested Wednesday afternoon after Silay City police recovered a total of P520,000 worth of suspected shabu from their residence during a raid at the Camella Subdivision in the city’s Barangay Guinhalaran.

Police identified the arrested suspects as Cydee and Jonah Bajandre, both 37 years old.

Silay City police chief, Police Superintendent Noel Polines, said the operation was conducted after Judge Ana Celeste Bernad of the Silay City Regional Trial Court-Branch 69 issued a search warrant against the couple.

The search yielded a total of 12 sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and suspected drug money amounting to P6,900.

Police also recovered a Glock 22 .40 caliber pistol with six units of live ammunition.

Silay City Mayor Mark Golez also visited the area following the raid and congratulated the police for a successful operation.

The couple faces drug-related charges and are presently detained at the Silay City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
