The 27th Visayas Area Business Conference and Expo is scheduled to open next week, August 30, at the L’ Fisher Hotel in Bacolod. Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chief Executive Officer Frank Carbon said several guests are expected to speak at the event, noting, Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. will deliver the keynote address.
Among other expected speakers include Department of Agriculture Undersecretary for Policy and Planning Segfredo Serrano, National Economic Development Authority Undersecretary Adoracion Navarro, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Chair for Agriculture Roberto Amores, University of the Philippines-Diliman Marine Science Professor Miguel Fortes, former PCCI Tourism Promotion Board Domingo Ramon Enerio III, and Engr. Roberto Bernardo.
Topics to be discussed include planned programs for the Visayas, agriculture, sustainable tourism, strategic infrastructure, among others.
The compiled resolutions will later be turned over to Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Michael Lloyd Dino.
In addition, Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go was also invited to give closing remarks but, according to Carbon, he has yet to confirm his attendance./WDJ
