Visayas Open: Bacolod City athletes rule table tennis, karatedo

Bacolod City athletes dominated table tennis and karatedo events at the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Visayas Open-Iloilo City leg, which took place last weekend.

Dirk Nhickolle Atilano and Fea Arguelles took gold in the 12-and-under and 16-and-under table tennis events, respectively; while Dianah Yapiso took bronze in the 12-and-under division and Ken Andrei Memoria also earned bronze in the 16-and-under category.

In karatedo, Margueritte Therese Calaor won two gold medals 11-13 years old girls’ division, one for kata and the other for kumite.

The tournament next heads to Danao City, Cebu from August 25 to 26 and will return to the Western Visayas when event take place at an unnamed locality in Aklan from October 27 to 28./JSG, WDJ
