A suspected snatcher was wounded after he was shot by a responding security guard yesterday morning along San Agustin Drive in Barangay 5, Bacolod City.

Police identified the suspect as 19-year-old Axel Tebus, a resident of Barangay Su-ay in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Police Station 2 (PS2) investigators said, around 3:50 a.m., Tebus and another suspect, identified as 27-year-old RJ Lopez, reportedly robbed 22-year-old Jazzer Ann Zamora by snatching her bag.

As the suspects attempted to escape by motorcycle, a security guard, identified as Edcel dela Rosa, opened fire and struck Tebus in the back.

Tebus’ accomplice immediately sped away, while dela Rosa arrested Tebus on the spot.

The suspect was later rushed to a hospital in Bacolod City for treatment and is faces criminal charges.

Lopez, meanwhile, is still being pursued by PS2./DGB, WDJ
