Team manager: We only had a month to prepare

The Philippine U13 football team, led by the Negros Occidental Football Association, recently finished fourth place at the Soong Ching Ling Cup in Beijing, China after losing, 2-1, to the host team in a consolation match.

Striker Julio Antonio Yoldi gave the Philippines a 1-0 lead after the first half, but their Chinese counterparts responded twice in the second half.

Philippines team manager Andrew Infante made note of the abbreviated time period they had to prepare for the event.

“With just a month of preparation, it was a good run,” he said. “Last year, we finished fifth.”/JSG, WDJ
