At least two people are confirmed dead, while another was wounded, after an uncle shot his nephew and in-law yesterday morning in Barangay Banquerohan, Cadiz City.
According to Cadiz City police chief, Police Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, the suspect, identified as Jomarie Calida, visited his sister-in-law’s house, where he was confronted by Sally Calida. The two were engaged in a dispute after the former sold his motorcycle to the latter’s husband, however, it is believed payment was never made.
The suspect returned home to retrieve a 9mm firearm and wounded his in-law after shooting her in the ear, who was later rushed to the city’s district hospital for medical treatment. He proceeded to shoot his 14-year-old nephew JV Calida, who died from a gunshot wound to the head.
The assailant then reportedly shot himself in the head after committing the crime.
