The relics of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina recently visited Bacolod City as part of a two-day tour in the city.
The saint’s relics visited several churches in the city after its arrival last Tuesday, first, visiting the Saint Ezekiel Monastery in Barangay Tangub and the Our Lady of Peace Good Voyage Parish at the Airport Subdivision in Barangay Singcang-Airport.
A holy mass and veneration took place at the Sacred Heart Seminary Shrine, which was attended by hundreds of Catholic faithful.
In his sermon, Rev. Fr. Gianmaria Giorgio, an Italian Capuchin priest and part of the relics’ secretariat, relived the life of Saint Pio, who is regarded as a patron saint for volunteers, adolescents, and stress relief.
He also reminded the crowd never to stop praying, especially during the times of crisis or spiritual emptiness./DGB, WDJ
