A four-month-old was recently killed after she was thrown against a wall by her father at Sitio Tayap in Barangay Patag, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the suspect as 40-year-old farmer Marjun Cusay, a resident of the said area.
Silay City police chief, Police Superintendent Noel Polines, said Cusay arrived home drunk on Monday.
The victim, whom police have requested not to identify, began crying, which supposedly angered the assailant. The suspect reportedly picked up his daughter and threw her towards his live-in partner. The partner, whom police also requested to not be named, failed to catch the child, resulting in the baby hitting the wall head first.
Polines said the child was initially survived; however, she later passed away early yesterday morning after she was found unresponsive.
Cusay was later arrested by police at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital, where the victim was later brought.
Polines added, parricide charges have already been filed and Cusay is currently detained at the Silay City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
