Peña: Go after ‘Tolikoy’
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
Moises Padilla Mayor and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) adviser Magdaleno Peña urged Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, to stop going after PDEA assets operating in the city.
The mayor said he has assets scattered across the city and providing assistance to PDEA.
Their reports are subsequently submitted directly to President Rodrigo Duterte.
Peña said Ebreo is actively chasing down assets and he has no idea why.
In addition, he requested Ebreo to turn his attention towards suspected illegal gambling operator Edgar ‘Tolikoy’ Mellama.
Peña claimed Mellama has returned to the illegal drugs trade in Bacolod City, pointing out, the suspected illegal gambling operator has switched to drugs because he cannot sustain his earnings.
He noted, several politicians and police officers are also receiving protection money.
Peña added, Ebreo should also have not transferred two police officers involved in the shootout which killed Bacolod-based drug lord Ramy Poja.
Meanwhile, when asked to comment on the two arrested drug suspects caught with P1.4 million worth of shabu, who are also being investigated for alleged links to the Maute terror group, Peña said he hopes BCPO succeeds in the investigation./DGB, WDJ
