Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) recently announced another batch of police chiefs across the region will be relieved from duty due to poor performance in the war against illegal drugs.

Last month, the regional office relieved 23 police chiefs.

According to PRO-6 director, Police Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, in addition to officials with poor records, “overstaying” police chiefs will also be relieved from duty.

“Overstaying police chiefs, if there are any, then city and provincial directors,” he explained. “May mga provincial directors kasi na over than two years na sa kanilang post so we have to change them (There are provincial directors that have been at their post for over two years, so, we have to change them).”

However, among the 23 earlier relieved from duty, orders for three police chiefs, namely Mina Municipal Police Station chief, Police Senior Inspector Ma. Theresa Lero; Bingawan Municipal Police Station chief, Police Chief Inspector Ramil Jacaba; and San Rafael Municipal Police Station chief, Police Senior Inspector Kenn Albert Lepsia, have since been recalled as each of their respective jurisdictions were later declared “drug-cleared.”
