A 20-year-old man was left stabbed and badly bruised after a group of juveniles assaulted him inside an internet cafe late Sunday night in Barangay Zone 2, Pulupandan, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the victim as Sariego Rex, a resident of the town’s Barangay Zone 7.

Pulupandan municipal police investigators said Rex, along with friends, were about to leave the internet cafe when a group of teenagers attacked them as they were exiting.

The victim’s friends fled and left Rex behind, who was repeatedly mauled.

As Rex attempted to escape, he was cornered inside the shop and was stabbed in the back and chest.

The suspects immediately fled, while bystanders rushed Rex to the town’s local health center. He was later transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

Local police already have a suspect in the stabbing, whom they described to be “around 15 years old.”

A follow-up operation is underway./DGB, WDJ
