The Energy Development Corporation (EDC), as part of its 10M in 10 for a Greener Negros movement, will be conducting a tree-planting next week, August 22, in Barangay Lamogong, Manjuyod in Negros Oriental.

5,000 square meters of land has been set aside by Manjuyod Mayor Felix Sy for the project, where over 200 species of trees will reportedly be planted.

Last month, EDC conducted a tree-planting in Barangay Calabnugan in Sibulan, also in Negros Oriental.

Over 200 volunteers took part in the event, where balete, tabugay, taruy, talo-ot, pili, and kube trees planted.

The island-wide project has planted over 2.5 million trees across Negros, over a span of 3,000 hectares./WDJ
