A payloader truck nearly crushed a jeepney late Thursday night along Rosario Bridge, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City.
Police identified the victim as 58-year-old Danny Lirazan, a resident of Barangay Cabug of the said city.
Police Station 6 (PS6) traffic investigator, Police Officer 3 Benjie Giron, said Lirazan was already heading back to his garage in Barangay Mansilingan when his vehicle was accidentally swiped by the rear part of a payloader truck driven by 28-year-old Bryant Hatton.
As a result, Lirazan’s vehicle was pushed sideward, nearly crushing the jeepney’s front compartment.
Lirazan, however, managed to emerge from the wreck with injuries to his leg and head.
The victim was later rushed to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center for treatment, while Hatton surrendered to the police after the incident. But he was later freed after the victim and the owner of the passenger jeepney agreed to a settlement./DGB, WDJ
