A drug buy-bust operation led to the recovery of an estimated P5.1 million worth of suspected shabu in Purok Kabulakan, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.

The suspected drugs that weighed a total of 430 grams were confiscated from the 28-year-old Errol Gimarangan Jr. of Purok Gaisano, Barangay Alijis also in Bacolod City.

Officers from Police Station 8 caught Gimarangan after he sold suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P500.

Police Station 8 commander Chief Inspector Ruel Culanag said they did not expect to seize such huge volume of suspected drugs during the Thursday night sting operation since Gimarangan was only a “small-time” suspect.

Gimarangan was detained in the lockup facility of Police Station 8 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On Wednesday, an operation in Barangay Singcang-Airport also led to the seizure of suspected shabu worth an estimated P1.2 million.

Four drug suspects – Renante Solanan, Pastor Palo, Jesus Paurillo, and Jesus Rodriguez – were arrested and jailed./DGB, WDJ
