Bacolod City executive assistant Samuel Montoyo must answer the allegations that former mayor Monico Puentevella has hurled against him, according to the Civil Service Commission.

Puentevella accused Montoyo of violating Republic Act 6713, or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

The former mayor said yesterday that Montoyo attacks him through press releases but never identifies himself as an executive assistant.

Instead, Montoyo only uses the words “taxpayer,” “registered voter,” or “chairman of Save Bacolod Movement, Inc.,” said Puentevella.

Puentevella added that Montoyo has repeatedly lambasted him and his family in his radio program.

Montoyo, denied Puentevella’s allegations, saying that the former city chief executive is just telling lies.

He added that Puentevella’s accusations have no basis.

Puentevella only made the accusations as part of his plans relative to next year’s midterm elections, Montoyo added./DGB, WDJ
