The findings of the investigation that looked into the construction of the controversial Negros First Animal Hub will be released soon, said Negros Occidental governor Alfredo Marañon Jr.
The investigation was conducted by a special fact-finding team led by Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Mary Ann Lamis at Marañon’s order.
The construction of the animal hub – which was almost 80-percent complete – was ordered stop in April.
Marañon said it does not have necessary documents, like permits from the Office of the Building Official.
Marañon also said he has no idea that the animal hub was already being built at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan.
The governor declined giving comment on what the Provincial Board has discussed regarding the sanctions that will be given to individuals who were found involved in allowing the hub’s construction.
In June, Lamis said the probe results were “confidential and for the eyes of the governor only.”
Negros Occidental vice governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, meanwhile, said the results must be revealed publicly./DGB, WDJ
