The Iloilo provincial government will be providing families affected by recent landslides in Sitio Rumbang, located in Barangay Igpigus, Igbaras, with financial assistance in the coming days.
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) head, Dr. Neneth Pador, said they are currently waiting for a final number of affected residents before distributing the funds.
Typically, families receive between P3,000 and P5,000.
The government official noted, the Igbaras Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office was directed to have the head of each affected family visit the Provincial Capitol today, August 6, to submit requirements in order to claim assistance, including a certificate of indigency, certificate of residency, a photo of their damaged home, and a police blotter.
Meanwhile, according to Igbaras Mayor Vicente Escorpion, Jr., the latest tally found 38 homes were impacted by the landslides, affecting 50 families.
He noted, the municipality has provided food packs for affected residents and the local Philippine Red Cross also provided supplies.
The mayor added, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office is still determining the total cost of damage./WDJ
