Two men were killed, while another was wounded, after being stabbed during a drunken scuffle earlier yesterday morning at Olympia Village in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City.

Police have yet to name the two fatalities but managed to identify the wounded as Jerry Martinez, a resident of the said barangay.

Police Station 7 commander, Police Chief Inspector Ramel Sarona, said the victims were returning home after a night of drinking when they were confronted by two unidentified suspects, whom investigators believe may have been brothers.

A scuffle reportedly erupted between the two groups, which led to the stabbings.

Sarona noted, a chase may have also ensued as the two slain victims were found at different locations. One was found at the entrance of Purok Masagana, along the Alijis-Murcia road; while the other was discovered inside Olympia Village.

Martinez, meanwhile, was rushed to Bacolod Adventist Medical Center for treatment.

Sarona added, they had 22-year-old Lorenz Dela Cruz in custody following the incident, as he was reportedly with the suspects prior to the stabbings.

Upon questioning, Dela Cruz said they and Martinez’ group were engaged in an argument inside a bar a few hours prior to the incident.

Police are presently conducting a manhunt operation against the two suspects./DGB, WDJ
