Prov’l government closes national disaster resilience month

The Negros Occidental provincial government held their national disaster resilience month culmination program recently at the Capitol Social Hall, which included a memorandum of agreement signing between the provincial government and Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC) to conduct the Negros First Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Training Workshop on geographic information system and remote sensing of the environment.

Among other events included a graduation ceremony for 32 provincial government employees from a two-day first aid training and the turnover of four automated external defibrillators.

Present for the event were Negros Occidental Provincial Board Member Samson Mirhan; Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator, Dr. Ma Lina Sanogal; Provincial Disaster Management Program head, Dr. Zeaphard Caelian; CHMSC president, Dr. Renato Sorolla; CHMSC vice president for research and extension, Dr. Janet Espinosa; Amity Public Safety Academy (APSA) chairman, Engr. Ferdinand Turbanos; James Ultem Benares; Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Ernell Tumimbang; among others.
