Negros First eliminated

The Negros First Softball Team was eliminated from the 2018 Junior League Softball World Series in Kirkland, Washington in the United States after losing 2-0 to the Emilia Romagna Little League of Bologna, Italy, which represents the Europe-Africa region.

The Italians scored in the first and seventh innings through Martina Colonna and Sarah Bortolotti, respectively.

Despite the loss, Negrense pitcher Glecilyn Alipato managed to strike out 10 batters and throw 19 first pitch strikes, outperforming her Italian counterpart Maya Milano.

The Philippine team closes out their World Series with a friendly game against Keystone/West Tampa/Bayshore Little League of Tampa, Florida, who defeated Negros First in their tournament opener./JSG, WDJ
