Hanah Taekwondo wins 19 gold medals at regional championships

Hanah Taekwondo picked up 19 gold medals at the Regional Taekwondo Championships, which recently took place at the SMX Convention Center at SM City Bacolod.

10 gold medals were won by Dondy Santillan, Shanrick Matti, Adrian Galinea, Joshua Deita, Ashley Chavez, Mary Angeline Alcantara, Clyde and Marichu Gentroles, and Christian and Archie Monasque in the kyorugi event, which is a demonstration of sparring.

Another nine were won in the poomsae event, which is comprised of basic attack and defense motions associated with the martial art. Auster Burata, Alexandria Gabrielle Rubica, Rolyn Jan Tolentino, Nea Marie Aplasca, Galinea, Matti, and Deita medaled in the individual category; while Tolentino and Burata won in the pairs competition.

Among silver medalists, Zach Olivo, Luigi Escasinas, Eiran Jett Sumaria, Jonathan Seguera, and Aplasca won in individual events; while Deita and Marichu Gentroles took home medals in the pairs events.

Clyde Gentroles and Rubica picked up silver medals in both divisions.

Meanwhile, the bronze medals winners included Ethan Chavez, Jeremy Solano, Davon Pecha, Zane Vincent Olivo, and Monasque./JSG, WDJ
