Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor challenged his newly-appointed chief of police to eliminate the illegal drug menace in the area.
Police Senior Inspector Randy Babor was installed by Police Regional Office-6 director, Police Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, to replace outgoing Isabela municipal police chief, Police Chief Inspector Ruben Pajarito.
Malabor earlier requested Pajarito’s relief, citing poor performance in the campaign against criminality and illegal activity.
Malabor pointed out, based on the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office ranking of police stations, Isabela ranked second to last.
“Therefore, I am challenging the new police chief to do his best and make the Isabela Municipal Police Station number one in the province,” the mayor proclaimed.
He assured Babor all the logistical support the police may need.
Malabor cited reports claiming illegal drug activity in the town allegedly increased during Pajarito’s tenure.
He also complained about an increase in petty crimes.
Malabor said he expects Babor to address the concerns immediately.
He further stressed, peace and order is vital to the development and progress of the town, especially in luring in investors./DGB, WDJ
