Nearly P900K in farm equipment turned over in Bago City

Acting Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, alongside Provincial Board Member Victor Javellana and Provincial Agriculturist, Atty. Japhet Masculino, yesterday turned over nearly P900,000 worth of farm equipment in Barangay Tabunan, Bago City.

The recipients comprised of farmers associations from Bago City, Himamaylan City, and Silay City.

Three hand tractors worth P130,000 each and five threshers worth P100,000 each were distributed to beneficiaries.

Masculino noted the equipment was part of a Department of Agriculture-Region VI rice program.

Following recent inclement weather conditions brought about by Typhoon “Henry,” the Negros Occidental Office of the Provincial Agriculturist reported nearly P3.28 million in rice crop losses.
