Following recent crop damage reports released by the Negros Occidental Office of the Provincial Agriculturist after the region was affected by inclement weather conditions brought about by Typhoon “Henry,” a final report cited losses totalling just over P3.294 million.
The greater majority of damages impacted rice crops, with Bago City reporting the highest value in losses, around P936,038. San Enrique was close behind with nearly P851,940 in losses.
In their initial report last week, San Enrique was the only locality to report losses, which, at the time, came to P525,810.
Meanwhile, Moises Padilla reported P15,466 in corn crop damages, the same figure recorded in the prior report.
Last week, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasted another tropical storm could affect the country before the end of the month.
Most recently, PAGASA reported Tropical Storm “Jongdari,” which would have been locally referred to as “Karding,” is currently drifting away from the Philippine area of responsibility and will likely not affect the country./PLL, WDJ
