Bacolod City lone district Rep. Greg Gasataya said he expects changes in the House of Representatives after former president, Pampanga second district Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, was sworn in as the new speaker of the house.
Gasataya anticipates faster and more efficient passage of laws and bills.
The congressman also said, with Macapagal Arroyo as speaker, Negros Occidental will benefit since her husband, Jose Miguel Arroyo, is a native of the province.
Arroyo was elected speaker earlier this week after the House of Representatives resumed session following President Rodrigo Duterte’s State of the Nation Address,
Arroyo secured 184 affirmative votes, with 12 abstentions.
All Negros Occidental representatives voted in favor of Arroyo, except Fourth District Rep. Juliet Marie Ferrer, who was on official leave./DGB, WDJ
