Anti-crime and anti-corruption group Task Force Kasanag (TFK) yesterday forwarded a letter to Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr., urging him to publicize the Negros First Animal Hub investigation report.
In the letter forwarded by TFK national commander John Chiong, he pointed out, as a registered civil society organization, a formal request was made for Marañon to release the report.
Chiong explained, publicizing the investigation report would be “for the sake of public information and transparency.”
The TFK official said he hopes the governor responds to his request.
Back in June, Negros Occidental Assistant Provincial Legal Officer, Atty. Mary Ann Lamis, said the results of the investigation are “confidential and for the eyes of the governor.”
Negros Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, however, stressed the information must be revealed to the public.
Marañon, meanwhile, halted construction of the animal hub, which was already 80 percent complete.
The governor earlier stated he was unaware of the structure’s construction and only knew about it during the opening day of the Panaad sa Negros Festival back in April./DGB, WDJ
