A total of 81 Department of Public Works and Highways-Bureau of Equipment (DPWH-BOE) heavy equipment operators and engineers passed the recent Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) competency assessment, with two from Region VI, or the Western Visayas.
The two-day assessment took place last weekend in Taguig City.
With regard to the assessment for heavy equipment operation, some of the devices applicants were tested on included backhoe, forklift, dump truck, excavator, among others.
According to TESDA Director-General Guiling Mamondiong, the program is part of the memorandum of understanding between TESDA and DPWH intended to prepare workers for various projects as part of the Build, Build, Build program, an infrastructure program enacted by the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte./WDJ
