The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) yesterday placed their units under ‘Full Alert’ status, ahead of President Rodrigo Duterte’s State of the Nation Address (SONA), scheduled for Monday.
NOPPO director, Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, Jr., said the 100-member civil disturbance management unit recently underwent training exercises as part of preparations for the event.
Castil explained, units will augment other police units in the province should protests grow violent, adding, maximum tolerance will be observed.
BCPO director, Police Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, meanwhile, said via text message, official leave for all BCPO personnel is canceled.
All police officers in the city have been ordered to report for duty as part of the city police force’s security plans./DGB, WDJ
