National Children’s Book Reading Day is observed at all SM Malls across the country every third Tuesday in July. This year, 100 students from Vista Alegre Granada Elementary School and the Kalipay Negrense Foundation, Inc. took part in the event, where they listened to storytellers and received books, school supplies, and prizes.

Books written by Robert Magnuson were featured, with Kalipay Foundation Executive Director Mel Sillador reading “Duck and Croc Meet Collector Alligator” and journalist Mate Espina reading “Duck and Croc’s Magnificent Race.”

The annual event seeks to encourage practicing reading skills; along with providing materials that teach life lessons on subjects such as friendship, fairness, honesty, among others./WDJ
