Three local athletes suit up for girls’ basketball

The Philippines U18 girls’ basketball team will include three local athletes on the roster as they look to defend their ASEAN School Games, which kicked off yesterday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Included on the team are Kent Jane Pastrana of Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School in Silay City and Lina Goto of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos in Bacolod City, alongside Karl Ann Pingol of Iloilo City.

“We have the talent and just need the proper support,” said assistant Coach Denden Velez.

If the Philippines sweeps all four of their games, they are automatically declared the champions./JSG, WDJ
