Ceres signs five players ahead of ASEAN Zonal finals

Ceres-Negros FC recently announced five signings, including two returning players, ahead of their upcoming 2018 AFC Cup ASEAN Zonal finals series against Singapore’s Home United FC. The first leg takes place on August 1 at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City, while the second leg will be held on August 8 at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore.

Midfielder Paul Mulders and goalkeeper Roland Müller both returned to the club; the former played for the Negrense club for three seasons before moving to Global Cebu FC, while the latter left in December 2017 for family reasons.

Meanwhile, Ceres FC also signed striker Blake Powell from A-League club Central Coast Mariners; alongside defender Jerry Barbaso and winger Curt Dizon, who both previously played for Global.

Dizon only recently joined Global after his previous club, FC Meralco Manila, was dissolved.

Amid the influx of players, striker Takumi Uesato, who joined Ceres earlier this year, was released./JSG, WDJ
