Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) director, Police Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, confirmed one police officer from Negros Occidental tested positive for illegal drugs.
In a phone interview yesterday morning, Bulalacao said the involved cop, whom he did not name, is ranked Police Officer 3 and currently assigned to the Regional Police Holding and Accounting Unit.
Bulalacao noted, the police officer earlier admitted to using illegal drugs.
The PRO-6 chief explained, followed a 15-day period for due process, the involved police officer will be removed from service.
Last month, Bulalacao expressed determination to clean the ranks of the region’s police force as part of the programs introduced by Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Oscar Albayalde.
Bulalacao said he supports Albayalde’s program to rid the PNP of rogue and “scalawag” police officers, as well as discipline the entire regional police force./DGB, WDJ
