A 17-year-old was recently apprehended after he was caught selling illegal drugs at the Public Market in Barangay 1, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

While police did not name the suspect, they confirmed the teenager is a newly-identified drug personality and a resident of the city’s Barangay 5.

Kabankalan City police said the buy-bust operation was coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 6.

The suspect was arrested after handing one small sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer, in exchange for P300.

A search further yielded four small and two elongated sachets of suspected shabu, worth P10,000; drug paraphernalia; and the suspect’s motorcycle.

The teenager is currently under the custody of Kabankalan City police, while the recovered drugs were turned over to the regional crime laboratory in Iloilo City./DGB, WDJ
