Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) Grade 8 student Kiana Marie Alagaban finished sixth overall in the recent Vitrigo International Cup 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Alagaban’s mother, Tina, said, following the result, she hopes local governments will provide support for the sport.

“We hope that the local government can support,” she said. “This is a sport, wherein, if given focus, can bring medals.”

Among the individual apparatus events, the BTTHS student finished sixth in ribbon and eighth in balls and clubs.

Aside from the Philippines and the host country, the competition also included athletes from Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea, India, and Vietnam./JSG, WDJ
