The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) recently honored four technical-vocational education and training (TVET) graduates with disabilities, including a 24-year-old blind massage therapist from Aklan.
Mark Lester Artocilla of Kalibo, Aklan was one of four persons with disabilities (PWDs) recognized by the government agency.
“These stories show that nothing can stand in the way of the human spirit to rise above difficulties and challenges,” said TESDA Director-General Guiling Mamondiong.
The event was part of TESDA’s ongoing National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation week observance, which kicked off yesterday at the Jose F. Diaz Memorial Stadium in San Mateo, Rizal.
Mamondiong said the agency is also looking to upgrade their program to provide more accessibility for PWDs, along with training programs to respond to specific needs.
Meanwhile, the Regional Committee on Disability Affairs in the Western Visayas also opened their week-long observance yesterday at SM City Iloilo./WDJ
