Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor sent a letter to Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, Jr., requesting current Isabela municipal police chief, Police Chief Inspector Ruben Pajarito, be relieved, citing a need for a police official who “will enforce law and order.”

He has since sent a follow-up letter, requesting a certain Police Chief Inspector Romeo Salvador as a replacement. However, according to NOPPO spokesperson, Police Senior Inspector Aireen Cordua, while Castil received the request letter, there is currently nobody with the last name Salvador on NOPPO’s roster.

She noted, Castil has provided a list of possible replacements, although the recommended police officers have reportedly voiced their opposition to being assigned to Isabela.

When pressed on why Pajarito needed to be replaced, Malabor called his performance “questionable,” claiming illegal drugs have become prevalent, especially in the town’s Barangay Tinongan.

The mayor added, he wants to further enhance the campaign against illegal drugs and lawlessness.

Meanwhile, a copy of the letter has also been forwarded to Police Regional Office-6 director, Police Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao./DGB, WDJ
