Travel + Leisure magazine recently came out with their annual “Best Islands” list, which included Boracay among the “Top 10 Islands in Asia,” despite the ongoing rehabilitation.
Both Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler, another prestigious travel publication, previously put the island atop the list.
“We are pleased with the results of this year’s Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards,” said Department of Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.
Meanwhile, among the “15 Best Islands in the World,” Cebu came in eighth, while Palawan took sixth.
Palawan was previously named “Best Island” in 2013, 2016, and 2017.
This year, Indonesia dominated the ranks, with Java, Bali, and Lombok taking the first three spots on the list./WDJ
