Schröck doubtful to start

After playing to 1-1 draws in their two prior meetings, Ceres-Negros FC and Kaya FC-Iloilo faceoff again today at the Iloilo Sports Complex.

Ceres midfielder Stephan Schröck, however, is in doubt for today’s match due to leg swelling; although, midfielder Bienvenido Marañón recently returned from injury and got his first touch over the weekend.

For Kaya FC, they may be without defender Camelo Tacusalme, who was injured over the week. If sidelined, he joins fellow defender Jalsor Soriano, along with the latter’s brother, striker Janrick Soriano.

With a couple weeks until the first leg of the AFC Cup ASEAN zonal finals against Singapore’s Home United FC, Ceres coach Risto Vidaković reiterated earlier comments about the physicality of the game.

“It’s very difficult for the players because they don’t feel any protection and nothing is given,” he said./JSG, WDJ
